Value of kidney scintigraphy in the diagnosis of destructive processes of renal parenchima

  • 1. Orvostudomanyi Egyetem, Szeged (Hungary)

Description

The diagnostic experiences obtained by kidney scintigraphy of circumscribed expansive processes within the parenchyma performed in multiple directions using gamma camera are reported. The results of 54 examinations are compared with those of the surgical operation. Sensitivity of the scintigraphy was found to be 94 per cent, and the specificity was 83 per cent. Based on the results, the application of non-invasive kidney scintigraphy for the diagnosis of destructive processes of kidney parenchyma is proposed. (author)
