Process for the dissolution of an oxide deposited on a metallic substrate and application to decontamination

Description

The surface to decontaminate is treated by an oxidizing solution containing a permanganate at a pH value between 2 and 6, preferentially 2 to 4, oxidizing Cr 3+ into Cr 6+ and the oxide solubilized with a reducing organic compound easy to decompose, eg. ascorbic acid. Especially for decontamination of primary coolant circuit of steam generators

La surface a decontaminer est traitee par une solution oxydante contenant un permanganate a un pH compris entre 2 et 6, de preference 2 et 4, qui oxyde Cr 3+ en Cr 6+, et l'oxyde est dissous avec un compose organique reducteur facile a decomposer, p. ex l'acide ascorbique. Peut etre utilise pour decontaminer le circuit primaire d'un generateur de vapeur
