Description
The TOKAI tandem accelerator was operated for 182 days (4,300 hours) in fiscal 2005. The maximum terminal voltage reached 19.1 MV. Twenty one ion species including 18O, 1H and 7Li were accelerated as required. The radioactive ion accelerator became operational in November, 2005. 47% of the operated hours was for nuclear physics, 29% was for irradiations on solids and atoms/molecules, and 18% was for nuclear chemistry. The superconducting booster was operated for 34 days, which occupied 19% of the total operation days. (K.Y.)
