The Double Chooz Inner Muon Veto

Description

The Double Chooz experiment is a low count rate reactor neutrino experiment, where precise knowledge of the flux of particles induced by cosmic muons is necessary. Therefore Double Chooz uses for each of the two detectors a liquid scintillator muon veto to monitor and tag muons and their secondaries. It is equipped with 78 Hamamatsu photomultipliers of 8 inch diameter. The poster will show details of the design, Monte Carlo simulation results and demonstrate the progress of the ongoing construction. (authors)
