Fractal Wilson loop and confinement in non-compact non-abelian gauge field theory

Description
We discuss properties of the recently proposed fractal Wilson loop FP as order parameter in non-compact gauge theories. For SU(2), it yields to lowest order of strong coupling expansion an area law, gauge invariance, and has a static quark potential interpretation. For U(1), it yields a perimeter law for all coupling.
