Description

The relevance of environmental qualification tests has signiflcantly increased in the Iast five years. This is mainly based on components to be installed in new reactors Iike the EPRTM and on plants applying for lifetime extension, where components, which have been aged, have to be replaced. Environmental qualification tests are carried out on safety related electrical, instrumentation and control (I and C) components, required during and after accident events Iike a loss of coolant accident (LOCA).
