Description
The original method for the estimation of radon and its progeny in air, suggested by Tsivoglou has been modified by several workers with the intention of increasing the sensitivity, accuracy and speed of estimation. It has been observed that when the concentrations are relatively low as in open atmosphere, the estimated concentrations, especially for 218Po (RaA) come out as negative numbers. The radon or radon progeny concentrations obviously cannot have negative values. The present paper describes a computational procedure for correcting this situation. The paper also gives a model computer programme for the purpose. (author)
