On the analysis of time properties of the neutron-nucleus scattering in the threshold range

Description
Duration and cross-section of the neutron-nucleus scattering were analyzed in the range of inelastic scattering. It is shown that the mean delay time in the scattering of s-neutrons depends on the parameters of the channel scattering and on the relation between the width of the excited target nucleus state and the energy spread of bombarding neutrons. According to the estimates, the real distortions of the cross-sections and durations of scattering as well as the durations of the wave packets describing the bombarding particles are very small for typical cases of the neutron-nucleus collisions. Therefore the threshold effects may be hardly observed
