Elevated temperature design of sodium systems
Description
The work performed within the safety engineering project had to do with the austenitic SNR steel X6CrNi18 11 (1.4948), which was to be studied in order to improve and verify methods for lifetime analysis of materials in an elevated temperature environment. The project tasks were (1) to investigate the material's behaviour, (2) to develop or improve methods for this purpose, (3) to reveal the mechanism of the sodium effects on the mechanical properties and characteristics of the steel 1.4948 under operational conditions. While the methodological work aimed, at improving the analysis, and thus the knowledge, of stresses involved, the investigations of the material and its behaviour in the sodium environment aimed at determining and checking the admissibility of stresses. Die im Rahmen des Sicherheitsforschungsvorhabens durchgefuehrten Arbeiten am austenitischen SNR-Stahl X6CrNi18 11 (1.4948) hatten zum Ziel, die Methoden fuer Lebensdaueranalysen im Hochtemperaturgebiet zu verbessern und abzusichern. Das Vorhaben gliederte sich in drei Teile: 1) Werkstoffverhalten, 2) Methodenentwicklung und 3) Mechanismus des Natriumeinflusses auf die werkstoffmechanischen Kennwerte des Stahls 1.4948 bei Betriebsbedingungen. Waehrend die Arbeiten im Teil Methodenentwicklung einer verbesserten Ermittlung der Beanspruchungen dienten, lag der Schwerpunkt der Untersuchungen im Teil Werkstoffverhalten und Natriumeinfluss auf der Beurteilung der Zulaessigkeit von Beanspruchungen.
