Description

The invention concerns a transmitter for supervision of water level and coolant level in the reactor tank of either pressured-water or boiling-water nuclear reactors. The transmitter is based on the principle of resistance-thermometers, and records the surrounding medium's heat conduction properties. It consists of one or more electrically heated resistance wires, which are placed in a body or envelope of suitable material. The body might be cylindrical or spheric. The space between the resistance wire and the envelope is filled with electrically insulating material, viz. magnesium oxide. The transmitter can be placed in, or above the reactor core. (Aa)
