Discharge properties of Υ-type CMD in ZnCl/sub 2/ type batteries

Description

A number of syntheses have been attempted for CMD as a battery cathode material based on the dry oxidation of MnCO/sub 3/. However, the x-ray diffraction patterns of these CMD crystal structure show no specific peak (weak broad peak) between 200 -- 400, (2θ, Fe-Kα), and its closest circuit voltage (C.C.V.) in ZnCl/sub 2/ type batteries is lower than that of EMD which consists of γ type MnO/sub 2/. It is considered that these CMD are much inferior to EMD on a heavy discharge. The syntheses of densified γ-type CMD were investigated in order to improve these handicaps of the previous CMDs. In this study, discharge properties by ZnCl/sub 2/ type battery tests were investigated, compared with EMD and another CMDs
