Gamma spectrometric determination of 237Np in PUREX-process solutions

Description
Because of its low-energetic intrinsic radiator 237Np can be determined by γ-spectroscopy with semi conduting detectors after selective separation by TTA-extraction from process solution. Under realistic conditions the sensivity limit is about 0.1 μg 237Np/ml. This method, which has been developed for process analytic purposes has a lower rate of failure compared to conventional α-spectrometry and is fast than activation analysis. (orig.)

Durch Halbleiter-Gammaspektrometrie laesst sich 237Np aufgrund seiner niederenergetischen Eigenstrahlung bestimmen, nachdem es zuvor durch TTA-Extraktion aus den Prozessloesungen selektiv abgetrennt worden ist. Die Bestimmungsgrenze liegt unter realistischen Messbedingungen bei 0,1 μg 237Np/ml. Diese fuer prozessanalytische Zwecke entwickelte Methode ist weniger stoeranfaellig als die gebraeuchliche α-Spektrometrie und schneller als die Aktivierungsanalyse. (orig.)
