Loading of 137Cs from acidic eluate of ion exchange column on synthetic zeolite

Description
Batch equilibration tests were carried out to determine the uptake of radiocesium by synthetic zeolite of mordenite type from simulated acidic eluate solution generated during elution of 137Cs-loaded resorcinol formaldehyde polycondensate resin (RFPR) column. The results were used to estimate the maximum possible loading of 137Cs on mordenite as a function of 137Cs activity in the eluate solution. These estimations were validated in two column experiments. (author)
