A model-independent explanation for the suppressed production of the charmed particles F, Fsup(*) and Σsub(c)
Description
By assuming that the SU(4) symmetry for the hadrons is broken in such a way that the SU(2) symmetry remains intact, this note offers a model-independent explanation for the suppressed production of the charmed particles F, Fsup(*) and Σsub(c). The present formulation for the non-ordinary hadrons also predicts that the so far unobserved 1/2+ charmed baryons S and A (in the notations of Gaillard et al.) will be suppressed. (orig.)
