Localization of 5F electrons and correlation effects in the photoemission spectra of UT2Si2
Description
Photoemission data of UT2Si2 (T=Ru, Rh, Pd, Ir) and the localized U-system UPd3 are presented. U 4f-core level spectra are compared with many-body calculations which reveal, that the U 5f-hybridization decreases from Ru to Pd. With increasing 5f-localization a second peak at EB=0.5 eV with a hybridization dependent weight can be observed in the partial U 5f-spectra, which can be ascribed to strong electron-electron correlation.
