Environmental effect of airborne radioactivity releases from high current proton accelerators

Estimates are made of the rate of radionuclide emission into the atmosphere and of the corresponding annual effective dose equivalent produced by air activation in the planned high current proton accelerator, Moscow Kaon Factory. Some of the systems that determine the emission rate, the dilution of the released gas-air mixture, and the resulting exposure for people living in the area concerned are considered. (Author)
