Manufacturing method of MOX fuel rod
Description
An MOX fuel rod is formed by loading a large number of cylindrical nuclear fuel pellets serially in the inside of a cladding tube. Two kinds nuclear fuel pellets of high and low Pu enrichment degrees are used as the nuclear fuel pellets. Then, two kinds of pellets of high and low Pu enrichment degrees are loaded uniformly as much as possible in the fuel rod corresponding to a middle enrichment degree, among three kinds of MOX fuel rods of high, middle and low enrichment degrees. Only the pellets of the high Pu enrichment degree are loaded to the fuel rods of the high Pu enrichment degree. Further, only the pellets of the low Pu enrichment degree are loaded to the fuel rods of the low Pu enrichment degree. This can reduce the kinds of Pu enrichment degree of the pellets while suppressing power peaking thereby capable of reducing a pellet fabrication cost. (I.N.)
