Spin effects in quark-quark scattering at high energies

  • 1. Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, Dubna (Russian Federation)

Description

The spin structure of the quark-quark scattering amplitude at high energies and transfer momenta |t|>1 GeV2 is analyzed. The gluon contributions in the α3s order are demonstrated to lead to the spin-flip amplitude, which grows as s. This means that spin effects in high-energy reactions, caused by the pomeron exchange, exist. The resulting spin-flip amplitude Tf is approximately a few percent of the spin-non-flip contribution. The contributions of large-distance and high-energy effects to the spin-flip amplitude are factorized. 13 refs., 2 figs
