Potential water erosion (according to R. K. Frewert, K. Zdrazil, and O. Stehlik); 1 : 1 000 000
Creators
Description
This source material represents another way of evaluating the potential water erosion. Potential threatening of soil by runoff is expressed by intensity of possible erosion (soil loss) in mm.year-1, which is the function of climatic factors (depending on intensity and periodicity of rains), geological, pedological factors (texture, humus), and inclination of slope expressed by special coefficients. The methodology of evaluation of the potential water erosion is based on universal equation of soil loss compiled by R. K. Frewert (1955) and adjusted by K. Zdrazil (1965), and O. Stehlik (1970). The coefficients used in erosion model were modified by natural conditions of the territory of Slovakia. Mean intensity of the possible soil loss is expressed as the weighed arithmetical average of all four coefficients on an area of 4 square kilometres. (author)
