Description
The local air circulations over the La Spezia complex coastal site have been studied 1) with a series of field surveys; 2) by means of a scale model in the hydrodynamic channel and 3) by applying a Gaussian mathematical model. The conclusions are presented of a comparison among the data of the three independent and complementary methods, relative to their respective degrees of confidence and completeness both for aerology and pollution behaviour. The main results are the following: 1) the hydraulic and mathematical models give fairly concording previsions, 2) the first one of them showed to be a powerful technique in planning studies of complex sites.
