Description

Phenomena involving the coherent propagation in nuclei of electromagnetically generated vector mesons have been much discussed. Similar phenomena for weak interactions are discussed here. As well as the vector mesons, the axial vector and pseudoscalar can enter here. In particular, the low mass of the pion implies that coherent propagation effects can develop at lower energies. Preliminary attempts have been made to see a shadow effect in the nuclear size dependence of total cross-sections, and the related theoretical notions are developed. (K.A.)
