Description
For a complete description of vibrational structure in nuclei, one should expect to observe multi-phonon (at least two and three phonon) excitations. Recent measurements on the low-lying level structures of Cd and Ni isotopes, which had long been considered to be the best examples of spherical vibrators, are suggestive of serious deviation from the expected vibrational picture for the two- and three-phonon states. With the aim of obtaining a comprehensive picture of the properties of low-spin levels in 106Pd, a series of γ -ray spectroscopic experiments has been performed with the 9n,N'γ
