Description

The proton spin echo approach is used to determine the self-diffusion coefficients of the molecules of tetrahydrofuran (THF) and water in an H2O–THF system, and of the molecules of ethylene glycol (EG) in the EG–THF system in the 0–15 mol % THF range of concentrations at temperatures of 35–65°C. The corresponding energies of activation are calculated for the self-diffusion processes of these molecules. The results are discussed in terms of the solvophobic effect of THF molecules in the studied solutions.
