- 1. Akita Univ. (Japan). School of Medicine
Description
A 38-year-old woman had previously received radiation therapy for pituitary adenoma. Four years and six months later, she presented with headache and vomiting. Computed tomography showed an extensive low density with ring enhancement in the right temporal region that had been exposed to a total dose of 50 Gy. Histological examination revealed malignant astrocytoma, which fulfilled the criteria of radiationi-induced tumor. (N.K.)
