Study on adsorptive stripping wave of uranyl-cupferron chelate

Description
The polarographic behavior of uranyl ion and cupferron in acetic buffer solution is studied by single-sweep polarography, cycle-voltammetry, stripping voltammetry and chemical preparation. Refering to the other authors' works, it can be deduced that UO2(cupf)2 was adsorbed at the electrode. The reduction of UO2(cupf)2 had the common effect of both UO22+ and cupferron: two electrons participate the reduction of U(VI) to U(IV), while the reduction of 2 cupferron ions needed 8e. So the sensitivity of determining uranium was higher than that without cupferron. The adsorptive stripping voltammetry has been proved a practical method according to the determined results of ppb level uranium in various samples. Especially the result is in agreement with the standard value of the standard water sample specified by IAEA
