Energy sector - eloquence versus expert knowledge
Creators
Description
It seems highly improbable that current public opinion regarding the risks of atomic energy will change to a more correct assessment, as it is not the actual risks that are decisive for acceptance, but rather the manner in which they are perceived by society. Specialists with well-founded opinions have no influence on this. The nuclear energy option might come into a dangerous situation. The public opinion gives no consideration to the fact that increasing primary energy requirements would lead to CO2, SO2 and NOx increasingly polluting the environment if atomic energy were to be abandoned. The general public believes to be on a way leading to reduced risks, but in reality is moving towards global climate disruption. (orig./DG)
