Progress in the design of a technical scale gas generator for steam gasification of coal using nuclear heat
Description
The status of the design and development of an industrial internally heated gasifier is described. The engineering design and the layout of the allothermal gas generator are based on considerations and experimental results concerning detail construction, materials for the heat exchanger, heat transfer into the reaction vessel, kinetics of coal gasification and computer studies as well as engineering models. By using these experimental data a concept for the gas generator has been developed, in which the heat from the HTR-helium will be introduced into the reaction vessel by a heat exchanger immersed in a fluidized bed of coal and steam. Der Entwicklungsstand einer industriell verwertbaren, von innen beheizten Vergasungsanlage wird beschrieben. Die Konstruktion des allothermen Gaserzeugers basiert auf Ueberlegungen und experimentellen Ergebnissen bezueglich der Konstruktion von Details, der fuer den Waermetauscher verwendeten Materialien, des Waermeuebergangs ins Reaktionsgefaess und der Kinetik der Kohlevergasung sowie auf Computerberechnungen und Konstruktionsmodellen. Mit Hilfe dieser experimentellen Daten wurde ein Konzept fuer den Gaserzeuger entwickelt, bei dem die Waerme aus dem HTR-Helium durch einen in ein Fliessbett aus Kohle und Dampf eintauchenden Waermetauscher in das Reaktionsgefaess geleitet wird.
