Two sessions of this congress were devoted to diagnostic radiology of erectile impotence: One session discussed selective arteriography of the A. pudenda interna, the other the method of cavernosography. Both methods meet with increasing attention, as organic abnormalities are observed today to be more often the cause of problems than psychogenic effects. In addition, modern therapies available today can only be applied after exact diagnosis. (orig./SHA)

Zwei Sitzungen des 2. Weltkongresses ueber Impotenz in Prag vom 17. bis 20. Juni 1986 waren der Roentgendiagnostik bei erektiler Impotenz gewidmet: Eine der selektiven Arteriographie der A. pudenda interna, die andere der Kavernosographie. Beide Untersuchungen erlangen eine zunehmende Bedeutung, da zum einen entgegen frueherer Auffassung organische Ursachen haeufiger anzutreffen sind als psychogene und weil zum anderen die moderne therapeutische Palette mit intrakavernoeser Selbstinjektion von Papaverin, gefaesschirurgischen Eingriffen an Penisarterien und -venen sowie Implantation von Corpus-cavernosum-Prothesen nur nach praeziser Diagnostik gezielt zum Einsatz kommen kann.
