Nonlinear astrophysical dynamo: a marginally unstable case

Creators

Description

A simple set of nonlinear dynamo equations which incorporate the effect of Lorentz force to the differential rotation is derived and analyzed for a marginally unstable dynamo. The nonlinear equilibrium state is found within one mode approximation. The period of magnetic cycle found by numerical calculations is the magnetic dissipation time, which is different from the linear result
