Description
These proceedings summarize a talk given at the Tau 2008 meeting in Novosibirsk, Russia, September 21-25, 2008. We report on the current status of the O(α2) and O(α3) hadronic contributions, calculated on the lattice, to the muon g-2 which arise from the hadronic vacuum polarization and light-by-light scattering. An attempt to calculate the light-by-light contribution to the muon anomalous magnetic moment in QED, using lattice techniques, as a first step toward computing the analogous hadronic contribution is discussed.
