On a spectral distribution of ultraviolet radiation energy of a solar flare

Description

A method is suggested for calculating the spectral distribution of ultraviolet radiation of the starting phase of a solar flare according to data of multi-frequency observations. To this end, a relationship was constructed between the additional rate of electron production during the flare of Δ q(h) and the height in the ionosphere. Using the data on Δ q(h), set of five linear equations for heights from 140 to 180 km in steps of 10 km and for spectral intervals of 1-138, 138-205, 205-280, 280-400, 400-796 A has been solved with the aid of the Jordan-Gauss method. Calculated was the spectral distribution of the ultraviolet radiation for solar flares of 28.08.1966 and 23.05.1967. The obtained spectra make it possible to employ data observations for establishing the overall regularities of the spectral distribution of the ultraliolet radiation during the starting phase of a flare
