Description

In order to validate the reliability of DRAGON code using WLUP library to calculate the thorium fuel benchmark, DRAGON code with 14 WIMSLIB libraries from WLUP was used to calculate the keff of thorium fuel benchmark and then the calculation result was compared with the experimental results. Meanwhile, the calculation result of WIMSD code provided by IAEA was selected as the comparison. The results show that the calculation result of DRAGON code has good agreement with that of WIMSD code. The endf68gx library was more excellent with the average relative error of 0.18% when light water moderated thorium benchmark is validated, and endf71 and jendl3gx libraries have the best result with the average relative error of 0.81% when heavy water moderated thorium benchmark is validated. The result indicates that calculating thorium fuel problems by DRAGON code using appropriate WLUP library is reliable. (authors)
