Temporul spectra of scintillations accounted for jet structure of the solar wind

  • 1. AN SSSR, Moscow. Fizicheskij Inst.

Description

The temporal structure function and the autocorrelation spectrum of scintillations are analyzed with the account made for the momentary velocity structure of the solar wind. It is established that the temporary spectrum of scintillations in the asymptotic frequency range is determined by both the spatial spectrum of turbulence and by the velocity distribution in the medium psi(V). For sufficiently steep distributions spi(V) approximately Vsup(-d), d>α-1 (α - being the power exponent of the spatial spectrum of turbulence), the shape of the temporal spectrum of scintillations is determined by the turbulence spectrum. In the case d<α-1, the shape of the temporal spectrum is determined by the velocity spatial distribution; the structure function and the scintillation spectrum thereby differ significantly from those for the case of homogeneous motion of the medium
