Description
Ultimate fate of uranium released into the geological environment, depends on the distribution coefficient (Kd). There exists a large uncertainty in the published literature for UKd and hence site specific values are needed to estimate reliable impact assessment. Soil and water chemistry play important role in the large variation of Kd values. Present study aims for the estimation of Kd for U at DAE campus, Visakhapatnam and evaluation of the role of groundwater chemistry on Kd. Soil (40nos) and groundwater samples (15nos) were collected covering the entire site (14 sq. km)
