Energy policy: aims and difficulties

Description
The importance of power industry as a branch of economy and its links with the EU energy policy is analysed in this work. The significance of the opportunities of Lithuanian economy in competition activities, in additional energy supply security and safety and the ratio of the development of energy sector to environmental protection is stressed. The importance of good overall relations with neighbours for solving energy resource issues is emphasised. The principles of energy pricing, nuclear energy programme and its development according to energy strategy, the role of the state in the formation of energy sector, energy reforms and issues of subsidies, privatisation and restructuring of energy sector are also considered.
