Strange-quark suppression in 225-GeV/c π -Be interactions
- 1. Physics Department, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Urbana, Illinois 61801
Description
We report here on a new measurement of the strange-quark suppression factor lambda, using data on ω(783) and phi(1020) mesons observed via the decay to μ+μ-. We find lambda = 0.31 +- 0.05, compared to a world average of about 0.29
