Description
Kagami et al. in 1982 described the procedure used in the Institute for study of the Earth's Interior for the measurement of Sr isotopic ratio and Rd and Sr concentrations, and reported the analytical results for some standard samples. The Nd isotopic measurement including the determination of Sm and Nd concentrations started in 1982 for the purpose of studying on the Sr-Nd systematics of various kinds of rocks. Since then an improved procedure for the decomposition of rocks and minerals has been used. In this paper, it is referred to, and the analytical results of Sr and Nd isotopic ratios and Rd, Sr,Sm and Nd concentrations in several standard samples are reported. First, the analytical techniques mainly for Sm and Nd are explained. Isotopic ratio was measured in a MAT 261 mass spectrometer. The results of the measurement of Sr-871 Sr-86 ratio in standard samples, the Rd and Sr concentrations in BCR-1, the Nb-143/Nd-144 ratio in standard samples, and the Sm and Nd concentrations in BCR-1 are reported. Some of accessory minerals are not decomposed easily with acids, and prolonged heating at high temperature is required for the complete decomposition.
