Oxidation of Mo - Si - C composite: macrokinetics and surface state

Description
Peculiarity of high-temperature oxidation in the air of the Mo - Si - C composite materials obtained through the method of self-propagating high-temperature synthesis are studied. Absence of changes in the sample mass by oxidation during about 400 h at the temperature of 1420 K is shown. The state of the sample surface before and after the high-temperature oxidation is studied through the auger-electron spectroscopy method

Исследованы особенности высокотемпературного окисления на воздухе композиционного материала, полученного в системе Mo - Si - C методом самораспространяющегося высокотемпературного синтеза. Показано отсутствие изменения массы образца при окислении в течение около 400 ч пр температуре 1420 К.
