Spiral structure of the Galaxy in the environment of the Sun according to diffuse nebulae
Description
Spiral arms in the Galaxy were traced by 255 emission nebulae with known photometric distances. Some parameters of the spiral structure were found. Pitch angles of three arms identified with Local, Perseus and Saggitarius arms range between 18 deg and 21 deg. The radio source W51, a giant star formation region turned out to be located in the extention of the Local arm
