Linear momentum transfer and evolution of nucleus-nucleus reaction mechanism at intermediate energies

Description
A report is given on the experimental program being performed at GANIL, aimed at studying the evolution of nucleus-nucleus interaction at intermediate energies. The investigation addresses questions as: what are the maximum linear momenta and excitation energies which can be transferred to the target, what is the evolution of the cross section corresponding to equilibrium-like final state in the central collisions and how do these quantities change when varying the entrance channel parameters? The momentum transfer and energy deposited were deduced from data consisting of angular correlations between coincident fission fragments where the mass and velocity of both fission fragments are measured
