Utilization of coal for energy. Proceedings - Book 1

The great reserves of coal in the world and accordingly, their role in meeting the rising energy needs, as well as the urgent need for environmental protection, have led to new technological solutions and significant economic changes in the field of power generation and throughout the energetic sector. The holding of this Symposium was initiated by ZEMAK - Association of Power Engineers of Macedonia, in compliance with its determination to raise competent discussions on current issues. The relevance of the subject is not only local, but global as well. In recent years, especially in the developed world, an immense number of research and development projects is evident, and a wide range of initiatives concerning the advancement in the utilization of coal in energy supply. The papers are published in two volumes. The first volume includes the following topics: Quality and quantity aspects of coal; Technical and technological possibilities and achievements in coal exploitation; Use of coal in generation of heat and electric power - equipment and technology.
