Shock wave production under the effect of ultrashort laser pulses

Description

A study is made on processes of production and propagation on shock wave in solid target under the effect of subpicosecond laser pulse with radiation wavelength λ0 < 1 μm and energy flux density on irradiated surface I0≥1015 W cm2. A simple model of radiation energy contribution under conditions of the normal skin effect was suggested. Correlation of results of earlier obtained automodel solution was conducted. It is shown that analytical automodel solution can be used for adequate description of energy contribution when studying gas dynamic processes in target material after the termination of pulse effect. 12 refs., 5 figs
