Investigation of the (antip, antin) charge-exchange reaction on nuclei

Description

We propose to investigate the (antip, antin) reaction as part of a study of the antiproton as a nuclear probe. Some characteristics of the antiN-A annihilation will also be investigated. We will search for isovector giant resonances and explore the missing Gamow-Teller strength in the β+ direction. 8 refs
