Experimental study on the boiling mechanism of liquid sodium in an annular channel
- 1. Xi'an Jiaotong Univ. (China)
Description
On the basis of experimental study and theoretical analysis, it deals with the boiling mechanism of liquid sodium and the boiling curves' characteristics in an annular channel with vertically upward flow at negative pressure. Many data and curves of liquid sodium boiling were obtained in different operating conditions. The authors made in-depth discussions on boiling mechanism of liquid sodium and its boiling curves' characteristics. The experimental results are of practical engineering significance for the design of Liquid Metal Fast Breeder Reactor (LMBR). Experimental parameters are as follows: heat flux: 12.77 W/cm2-78.73 W/cm2; flow rate: 0.047 m/s-0.674 m/s; saturation pressure: 850 Pa-9870 Pa; inlet subcooling: 63.12 degree C - 270.97 degree C
