High spin levels in 62Zn, 64Zn, 66Zn, and 68Zn

Description

Investigation by in-beam gamma spectroscopy of high-spin states in the even zinc isotopes has been made using the Ni(α,2nγ)Zn reactions at Esub(α) approximately equal to 30MeV for 62Zn, 64Zn and 66Zn, and the 65Cu(α,pγ) reaction at Esub(α) approximately equal to 18MeV for 68Zn. The high-spin states feeding by varying the incident particles: p,3He,α,12C is discussed. It is pointed out that the gsub(9/2) orbital plays an important role in the structure of the high-spin states. The variation of the inertia momentum throughout the yrast line shows a backbending behavior and a shape transition associated to the occurence, for J>6, of rotational states is speculated

Abstract (French)

L'etude des etats de spin eleve dans les isotopes pairs du zinc a ete entreprise par spectroscopie gamma sur faisceau a l'aide des reactions Ni(α,2nγ)Zn a Esub(α) approximativement egal a 30MeV pour les noyaux 62Zn, 64Zn et 66Zn et de la reaction 65Cu(α,pγ) a Esub(α) approximativement egal a 18MeV pour le noyau 68Zn. L'alimentation des etats de spin eleve, a l'aide de diverses particules incidentes (p,3He,α,12C) est discutee. Le role de l'orbitale gsub(9/2) dans la structure des etats de haut spin est mis en evidence. La variation du moment d'inertie des etats de la ligne yrast presente un comportement du type backbending, que l'on pourrait expliquer par un changement de forme du noyau avec apparition d'etats de nature rotationnelle pour des valeurs de spin J>6
