On inclusive annihilation of polarized e+ e- pair with two detected hadrons
Description
The inclusive annihilation of the polarized e+ e- pair with two detected hadrons in the final state (e+ e- → h1h2X) is considered for a general case. The annihilation cross section is expressed through five structure functions decribing the transition γsup(*) → h1h2X. Partial widths of the corresponding decay of the virtual photon are as well introduced for its various polarizations. The cross section is written in terms of the partial widths. The angular correlations of the detected hadrons are analysed in terms of the structure functions and partial widths. It is shown that the richest information comes from studying the azimuthal angular distribution in annihilation of the longitudinally polarized e+ e- pair. The density matrix of the virtual photon and the photon polarization multipole moments are as well presented
