Overview of Indian power system performance - ills and remedies

  • 1. Nuclear Power Corporation, Mumbai (India)

Description

The performance of power system at present is not very satisfactory and lot of system improvements including the improvement in the day to day management, are needed. Nuclear power stations would perform better if the grid frequency and voltages are maintained within the desired limits. It is necessary that nuclear power stations are operated as base load stations. The nuclear power is a better prospect for increasing the grid capacity, but the difficulties in smooth operation of NPS are to be appreciated and addressed to by system planners and operators
