Monocrystal molybdenum properties, fabrication and processing
Creators
Description
Mechanical and thermoemission properties of molybdenum monocrystals of various orientations are considered along with fabrication methods. A comparison is made of properties of monocrystalline molybdenum obtained by various methods, and their dependence on impurity content is analyzed. The structure of monocrystals is described, elasticity and tensile properties of monocrystals of various orientations are shown against test temperatures. With temperature increase, the tensile properties of monocrystals of all orientations deteriorate, the change being the greatest with the test temperature rise to 400 deg C. As crystalographic plane [110], gives the maximum work function, a possibility is considered to make emitters for electrogenerating channels of thermoionic convertors with the [110] plane on the surface. Tubular electrogenerating channels of a monocrystal plate can be made by bending it around the < 110 > axis followed by electron-beam welding
