Synthesis and crystal structure of cesium zinc molybdate Cs6Zn5(MoO4)8=2Cs3(Zn5/6□1/6)3(MoO4)4

Description
Cesium zinc molybdate of Cs6Zn5(MoO4)8 composition, which crystallizes in cubic crystal lattice with the lattice parameter a=12.278(2)A, sp.gr. I43d (Z=2) is synthesized. The crystal structure, having the basis of a three-dimensional frame of ZnO4 and MoO4 tetrahedrons with Cs atoms in the frame free space, (coordination number-12), is determined. Taking into account incomplete filling of the Zn position, the crystal chemical formula of the compound is Cs3(Zn5/6□1/6)3(MoO4)4 (Z=4)
