The French industrial plants for nuclear waste vitrification

Description

The different phases for the development of an industrial plant are reviewed: selection of a technique (function of capacity, wastes, remote handling, preliminary tests, prototype realization and testing, plant construction and personnel training). Then the Marcoule vitrification plant is described. Soon the two vitrification plants of La Hague will treat active waste. Evolution of the process is examined

On examine la methodologie conduisant a la mise en oeuvre industrielle (selection d'une technique, essais preliminaires, realisation et essai des prototypes construction de l'atelier et formation du personnel). On decrit ensuite AVM premiere installation industrielle qui a fonctionne, puis les deux ateliers de la Hague R7 et T7 qui vont passer en actif. On passe en revue l'evolution du procede
